Founded in 2000, Incendin develops, produces and distributes environmentally friendly flame-retardant additives, mainly used in the construction and transport sectors and in electronic devices. The company is a European market leader and exports from its production site in Tisselt to more than 30 countries. With the growing attention to fire safety and sustainability, the market for these products continues to expand. In response to this increasing demand, the company drew up an ambitious growth plan in 2015, supported by investment company Gimv.

Infrastructure
The company’s expansion placed increasing pressure on the existing server infrastructure. To support its growth path, Incendin needed an ICT partner capable not only of following this trajectory but also of identifying needs proactively. “By outsourcing our ICT management, we not only minimise risks, but I also gain more time to focus on strategic matters.” Several parties were contacted, and after thorough analysis, Office-IT was chosen. “We were convinced that Office-IT could fully relieve us of our IT concerns. The combination of a personal approach and central location was immediately in their favour. And the roadmap Office-IT designed for us aligned perfectly with our growth plans.”
Office-IT created a technical architecture based on a detailed project plan and executed it in several phases. A centralised data structure was chosen, improving both manageability and security. “We needed an ICT partner that could react quickly and accurately to our needs. Office-IT was the right choice.”
A new central infrastructure was purchased and, after extensive testing in Olen, physically moved to the new administration building and production hall in Tisselt. The different sites were interconnected via secure VPN connections, giving employees virtual access to the entire network. They log in via a Remote Desktop Services environment and work directly on servers within the company.
With this solution, business-critical information is always available to all sites — a key requirement for Ecochem.
International growth
With operations in multiple countries, it became increasingly important to invest in a communication platform ready for the future. In November 2017, upon Office-IT’s recommendation, they switched to Fonzer VoIP telephony. This provides significant savings on international call costs. The phone systems in Belgium, France, Germany and Israel are connected, allowing free calls between sites. Colleagues working from their home offices in France and Spain also call for free. “We will soon extend this system to our sister company in the U.K. The quality of this telephony solution, together with the cost savings, fits perfectly into our growth plan.”
Collaboration
Incendin is extremely satisfied with both the solution and the implementation. “The result of the collaboration with Office-IT is that the continuity, reliability and quality of our IT infrastructure have increased significantly. At the same time, employee mobility has improved.” With the Remote Desktop solution, Incendin can now offer its employees a complete workplace anytime, anywhere.
