Mauquoy Token Company is not easy to describe in just one line. Under the parent company, several entities operate with one common factor: tokens and coins in metal. From coins for mints and national banks to souvenir coins and vending industry tokens – they are everywhere. Within this niche, the company is the largest player in Europe, and possibly worldwide.
A forced switch turns out to be a blessing
The partnership started when Mauquoy Token Company’s long-time IT provider admitted the workload had grown too heavy. “At the time, we relied on a one-man business where the owner handled all IT tasks. The rapid pace of change, combined with the looming global vulnerability in Microsoft Exchange Server, led him to end the collaboration and recommend that we look for a new IT partner. Fortunately, we acted quickly,” says COO Kristin Beirens.
Starting over after a hack
The start of our partnership happened just in time. Only a few days later, the company was hit by a hack that shut down the entire system. “We had only been working with Office-IT for less than a week, and suddenly it was all hands on deck.
Fortunately, they had already performed a full audit and identified several weak spots.
Although the hack was not directly linked to the Exchange vulnerability, our operations were seriously disrupted,” Kristin recalls. The Office-IT specialists immediately came on site to restore operations as quickly as possible.

A true feat, and even the data loss was minimal. We were also lucky that we use SAP Business One on a separate Linux server. That, combined with Office-IT’s quick action, meant we were back up and running very fast – without major damage. We switched at exactly the right time.”
IT must be functional
Although they compared different providers, the decision to go with Office-IT was made fairly quickly. “Professionalism and experience were key. We also didn’t want to depend on just one person anymore. We appreciate Office-IT’s accessibility and direct communication. And importantly, they follow our philosophy of keeping IT simple – no unnecessary tools or overkill. We prefer a clear and manageable structure with Microsoft 365 as the basis.”
At Mauquoy Token Company, the choice was made for a hybrid setup, with SAP running locally and Microsoft 365 in the cloud. “A deliberate decision, as it spreads risk. SAP can now run in the cloud too, but at the time that wasn’t possible yet. Also, we had a relatively new server, which made hybrid a logical choice. And I don’t want our work comfort to depend entirely on the quality of the internet connection.”

After the intense baptism of fire in the early weeks, things have been running smoothly ever since.
“It was a very intense introduction, but we are glad that Office-IT was at our side during that hectic time.
We are very satisfied with the collaboration, and whenever we have a request or remark, they respond quickly. I have already recommended Office-IT internally at group level and to sister companies – and that probably says it all.”
